Sustainable Bus System Proposal

for Auburn University

GREEN ENERGY BUS STOP

 SUSTAINABLE BUS STOP MODEL

Median Exclusive Bus Stop

My design concept for Auburn University to help decrease their carbon footprint would be implementing comfortable infrastructures built out of recyclable materials as the new bus stops and switching the Tiger Transit system to green power- electric instead of fossil fuels- as its primary energy source.

The current bus stops are minimalistic. They are identified by signs, and some of them have an added concrete platform for standing or a wooden bench with a half-covering roof. The newly implemented green infrastructure would not only bring attention to people around the campus but also provide a sustainable structure that helps its surroundings instead of hindering them. The total system will provide solar power and place single bus lanes throughout Auburn to contribute to the necessary reduction of CO2 emissions.
